NGO DARPAN (also known as the NGO-Partnership System) is a centralized portal developed by NITI Aayog in collaboration with the National Informatics Centre. It acts as a digital bridge between Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and various government ministries, departments, and bodies. By registering, an NGO receives a Unique ID, which serves as a credibility layer and is often a mandatory prerequisite for applying for government grants, funding schemes, and FCRA registration. The portal’s primary goal is to foster transparency, accountability, and better coordination between the voluntary sector and the government.
Registration is open to all voluntary organizations and non-profit entities that are legally established in India. This includes:
Registered Trusts: Any charitable trust registered under the Indian Trusts Act, 1882.
Societies: Organizations registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860.
Section 8 Companies: Non-profit companies registered under the Companies Act, 2013.
Voluntary Organizations (VOs): Any group engaged in public service for social, cultural, or developmental purposes.
Note: Individuals cannot register on the portal; it is strictly for established organizations with a valid NGO PAN card and a registration certificate.
